This weekend, Team Gaz-elles participated
in the navigation and off-road driving training
offered by the Rallye's organizers. Please
see the Photo Album for more pictures. We
learned to place check points on a map from
coordinates by using a course plotter and to
choose a course, recognizing difficult or impassable terrain.
During the off-road driving portion of the training, Julie proved an excellent driver. She definitely has a natural talent for driving and great instinct for reading terrain. There were a few exciting moments in the sand pit, generating lots of yahoos and giggles in the truck.
This weekend clearly confirmed that we are a great team and work together well. Morocco, here we come!
During this weekend, we met with fantastic, energetic and determined women. All Gazelles are doing the Rallye for different reasons, and it was inspiring to hear everyone's stories. Good luck to all Gazelles!
A huge Thank You to Louise and Guy for the invaluable training, for your patience and for your sense of humour.
Also, Thank You to all of you who follow us in our adventure. Our site received 207 hits in the last 7 days, and a total of 366 hits in the last 30 days!

Welcome to Team Gaz-elles' website!
Team Gaz-elles’ first fundraising activity was to sell candy brochettes at Christmas time. Also, the Team held raffles for tickets to an Ottawa Senators game, and for an ING Renault F1 baseball cap signed by Nelson Piquet. All these activities were very successful.
In the spring of 2008, Team Gaz-elles met with local media to secure either advertising space or articles describing their adventure. The goal is to provide visibility to their sponsors.
In order to gain more experience in orienteering and off road driving, Geneviève and Julie will participate in October 2008 in training offered by the Rallye’s organizers in navigation, mechanics and off-road driving.
